Is it better to use avocado oil than olive oil?

In short, the answer is “yes.” Most of us enjoy fried food as the texture and flavor of fried food is better. Due to the extremely high smoke point of 500°F of Avocado oil, it is by fat the safest oil for high heat cooking, like deep frying. So it is definitely better if you are able to use avocado oil as an alternative to olive oil.

Then again, the smoke point of light olive oil is also suitable for medium heat cooking (430°F), such as searing and frying. But extra virgin oil has a comparatively low smoke point of 220°F, which makes it unsuitable to be used for frying. High heat cooking with such an oil would lead to formation of carcinogenic compounds.

Considering the taste of the two oils, olive oil has a distinctive taste that would make it undesirable to be used in some kinds of cooking. Avocado oil is more mellow than olive oil and gives a buttery flavor to the food.

Considering the facts mentioned above, avocado oil is clearly the better choice out of the two. But it is important to keep in mind that both oils have uses and great benefits of their own that enables the users to lead a healthy life.
